PokerStars comes with a big reputation behind it, such is the power of a brand. It isn't a casino that knocks our socks off but, at 3.00 out of 5, it's also not half bad.
There are some annoyances with the customer service on the site - mainly around bots and a painful route to speaking to an actual person - but its approach to Responsible Gaming rescues a little bit of credibility back in that space.
On the positive side, you've got a tidy, if not market leading, game library that sits well in excess of 2,500 games. With exclusive titles and unique promotions that contribute to the gaming experience, it's hard to criticise too heavily in that space, especially with a RTP that is in the ballpark of where a lot of the competition is.
Last but not least, the general design of the site - both aesthetically and manoeuvrability - is very good.

One of the shining lights at PokerStars is the look and feel of the site. That doesn't just mean that it is attractive to look at though; the design has been well thought through, with layout and navigation generally strong.

There are responsive menu options, a scrollable category bar that runs across the top of the page and a prominent search function, which allows you to target specific games and software providers.

Wagering Requirement

PokerStars Mobile App
The PokerStars casino mobile app is highly rated on app stores, with Apple's App Store rating it at 4.4 stars. That's pretty strong. It does come with a caution though; at 276MB in size, it's pretty sizeable. For context, other established brands come in much smaller. Bet365, Ladbrokes and Coral, for example, all come in comfortably under 100MB.
Don't get us wrong, the app itself looks smart. It operates well and is simple to use, but it doesn't actually add huge benefits compared to the mobile-friendly website. The biggest benefit is being able to turn on notifications.

PokerStars customer support is a bit of a mixed bag. Accessing the "help" function is easy, but what you find when there is not anything to write home about.
The FAQ on offer is reasonably strong, which is a positive, as is the presence of a live chat function that operates 24/7.
Where things start to fall down a little bit is with the depth that comes underneath that. For starters, the live chat forces you through an AI-bot before you get to a human and it is not an intuitive navigation from bot to human; we had to signpost our query as a complaint during our testing to get transferred to an actual customer support executive.
The other contact methods are lacking too. It claims that "email" contact is available but you'll be hard pressed to find an address to contact, whilst there is no way of picking the phone up to speak with its staff either.
PokerStars Responsible Gaming
Some brands hide Responsible Gaming sections in site footers, positioning them as some form of thing that should be buried. Not PokerStars. You can access the two components of Responsible Gaming within the main menu of the site.
Not only does it take a prominent position on the site but the depth of detail available is good as well. There are clearly defined tools, which are signposted at the top of the page. These are then linked to more detailed rundowns of what each action is and how it works.
